About Dr. Omar Khatib
“Omar Khatib, MD, is one of the skilled orthopaedic and sports medicine specialists at NJOSM Clinic in Clifton, New Jersey. Dr. Khatib is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to his patients. He is fluent in English and Arabic, allowing him to connect with a broader group of patients.
Dr. Khatib earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and completed his medical education at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to pursue his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin after dedicating a year of research at New York University (NYU) Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Khatib built upon his residency with a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery and sports medicine at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak, Missouri.
With a strong interest in research, Dr. Khatib has published over ten peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in orthopaedic literature. He stays up to date on the latest treatments and technologies in orthopedics and maintains active membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Dr. Khatib's professional interests lie in general orthopaedics, sports medicine, shoulder surgery, and elbow surgery. His approach is to listen carefully to his patients and present all available surgical and non-surgical options to his patients and arrive at a patient-specific individualized treatment plan.”
